3 Successful Events Under the Hammer

Success was on the cards again for IAM Sold, as they wrapped up 3 more public auctions across Leinster, Munster and Connacht. So far this year the company have held 12 auctions, each offering an array of family homes, investment properties, commercial buildings, sites and builders projects along with agricultural lands.

Company Director Patrick Folan, noted “the success of our auctions is down to the extensive marketing campaigns we undertake in Ireland and abroad in the lead up to the auction while also working in close partnership with our network of 150 local partner estate agents from throughout the country.”

First up to the podium was The Connacht Property Auction held in The Menlo Park Hotel, Galway on September 14th. Some for the properties sold by the Connacht auction team included a stunning 3 bed detached house in Westport, Co. Mayo, which was sold in partnership with O’Malley Properties. This well located property had strong interest and was successfully sold at the public event for €495,000 to a delighted new owner. Elsewhere, a turn-key condition 4 bed bungalow in Carick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim was offered for sale in partnership with Gordon Hughes Auctioneers. This ideal family home received significant interest from local buyers and was sold for €130,000.  While in Galway, a 3 bed traditional style thatched cottage in Spiddal was sold in partnership with BV Commercial. This beautiful refurbished cottage was sold for €252,500 to a purchased based abroad.

The Munster Property Auction followed one week later with their auction held on September 19th in The Rochestown Park Hotel, Cork. The auction team offered a broad mix of residential properties, commercial & investment opportunities and agricultural holdings. Properties included an impressive 7 bed pre-Victorian residence located in Cork City, which was sold in partnership with Property Partners Matt Fallon. ‘Aras Tara’, Blackrock had strong interest in the lead up to the auction and after significant bidding, sold for €830,000 to the delighted new owner. Elsewhere in Co. Clare a renovation project was sold in partnership with Arthur and Lees. This 4 bed fire damaged house located on the Lahinch Road, Ennis and was sold for €29,000.

Finishing this most recent run of auctions was The Leinster Property Auction which took place on September 28th in The Clarion Hotel, Dublin. A popular lot offered in Dublin that evening was 12 Drumullen Cottages in Farnham, Co. Cavan. The property had over 20 bids with numerous parties competing to secure the property offered at bids over €22,000. The hammer finally came down at a bid of €41,000 to a delighted bidder in the room. In Swords, Co. Dublin a beautiful 3 bed townhouse was sold in partnership with iMOVE Auctioneers. No. 10 Boroimhe Hazel had strong interest in the lead up to the auction and was sold for €280,000. While in Carlow, a mixed use, investment property, consisting of 3 buildings in Hacketstown, was offered for sale in partnership with Kehoe Auctioneers. The Gem Shop had over 20 parties register their interest in the property in the lead up to the public auction event. Bidding started at €70,000 and continued at a brisk pace until the hammer fell and the property was sold for €130,000.

The next auction dates are Connacht on November 23rd, Munster on November 30th and Leinster on December 07th.
