Our auction team have just finished the first run of public auctions for 2019. We held 3 public auctions across Connacht, Munster and Leinster and have announced a strong success rate of over 92% over the three areas.

The Leinster Property Auction was held on March 7th and interest was strong in the majority of the lots offered by the auction team. In Rathmines, Dublin, a 6 bed semi-detached property was offered for sale in partnership with Youngs Estate Agents, Ranelagh. This ideally located property was subject to strong interest in the lead at the public auction event with several interested parties hoping to secure this well-located property. Bidding opened at €900,000 and after some brisk bidding, the property at 1A Leinster Road was for €1.01 million.

Another lot of interest was a high profile retail unit on Bolton Street, Inn Quay, Dublin. Currently rented as a Spar Convenience Store, this proved to be one of the most popular lots of the event. Bidding started strongly with initial interest at €820,000, and again a number of people raising their bidding paddle to secure the property. After over 30 bids, the hammer fell at €975,000 to the delighted new owner.

Meanwhile on February 28th, The Munster Property Auction sold an impressive range of family homes, agricultural lands, builder’s projects, and sites from around the province.  In partnership with Property Partners Matt Fallon, a well located 3 bed terrace house in Cork was successfully sold. The property at Rathowen, Fermoy is the ideal starter home or investment property. Bidding opened at €150,000 and had strong interest before selling at €210,000. Elsewhere, in Kerry, an unfinished 4 bed bungalow was offered for sale in partnership with Fitzgerald & Associates, Dingle. This well-located property offered excellent potential and was sold for €195,000.

The Connacht auction was held on February 21st where the auction team sold a beautifully refurbished 3 bed traditional stone cottage in Roundstone, Galway. The property named Howie Cottage was offered for sale in partnership with Spencer Auctioneers. The property was subject to strong interest in the lead up to the auction from both local and national buyers and after some brisk bidding sold for €185,000. While in Portumna, a fine 4 bed family home was sold in partnership with Keary Auctioneers. No. 1 Palmerstown Grove had strong pre- auction interest and the vendor accepted a bid of €167,000.
