Strong results in first round of 2020 public auctions

Property auction specialists IAM Sold have just finished the first run of public auctions for 2020. The company held 3 public auctions across Connacht, Munster and Leinster and have announced a strong success rate of over 87% over the three areas.

The Connacht auction was held on February 20th where the auction team sold a beautiful 2 bed thatched cottage ideally located just off Main Street of Clarinbridge. The property was offered for sale in partnership with RE/MAX Property Experts, Galway City. There was strong local and outside interest in this well located property, with over 40 enquiries before selling under the hammer at the live auction event for €155,000. While in Oranmore, also in partnership with RE/MAX Property Experts a well-located bungalow was successfully sold. The property at Carnmore West, which was presented in great condition throughout, had early interest and was sold for €252,500 to a delighted new owner.

Meanwhile on February 27th, The Munster Property Auction sold a fine A 1 bed, semi-detached cottage on half an acre site was sold in partnership with property Team Noel Mackey, Youghal. The property at Tallow, Co. Waterford, need total renovation, however, offers breath-taking countryside views, and was again subject to strong pre- auction interest and sold for €40,000 to a delighted new owner. Elsewhere in Limerick City, a 6 bed, mid terraced property was successfully sold in partnership with Rowan Fitzgerald, Limerick. The property, which is currently set out as a large residential house, offer great potential to be converted into 3 x 1 bed apartments. Bidding was competitive, with a number of people bidding in the room, as well as pre-registered phone bidders with the winning bid finishing at €140,000.

Finally The Leinster Property Auction was held on March 5th and interest was strong in the majority of the lots offered by the auction team. An excellent investment property at 73 Cabra Park, Phibsborugh was offered for sale in partnership with Kelly Bradshaw Dalton, Drumcondra. The property has been stripped back to its core and is ready for complete refurbishment. There was strong interest, with several parties keen on securing this residential investment, before the hammer fell on the successful bid of €390,000. Elsewhere in Ballinagh, Cavan, a 2 bed bungalow sold in partnership with Smith Property, Ballyjamesduff. Again, there was several parties interested in this well located property and after some brisk bidding at the event, the property sold for €76,000, some €31,000 above the opening bid. While a commercial building in Celbridge, Kildare sold in partnership with Team Lorraine Mulligan. This state of the art unit had good per-auction interest and the vendor accepted a bid of €410,000 prior to the live auction event.
