IAM Sold Property Auctions who operate The Connacht Property Auction, The Munster Property Auction, The Leinster Property Auction and The Northern Ireland Property Auction are delighted to announce the appointment of Shane May as Regional Sales Manager for the Connacht region. The company, who work in partnership with over 250 auctioneers nationwide, have promoted to a managerial position after several years of exceptional work within the company.
A native of Salthill/Knocknacarra, Galway, Shane initially joined the company as an intern embarking on a new career within the property sector. While undertaking a Higher Certificate in Real Estate, Valuation and Property Management, Shane excelled in both his studies and within the organisation.
After achieving an Honours Certificate in Real Estate, Valuation and Property Management, Mr. May went on to become a fully licenced auctioneer and has gone from strength to strength since then.
Patrick Folan, Director for IAM Sold Property Auctions, commented “Over the last number of years Shane has become an invaluable member of the IAM Sold team, displaying ambition and determination in both his studies and afterwards within on the job. He has an excellent insight and understanding of the property market with a strong performance history in sales. When the time came, Shane made the ideal candidate as regional manager, and we are delighted to be promoting him. The Connacht Property Auction had a busy start to year with auctions in January & February, and with 9 further auction to be held in Connacht between now and the end of the year, Shane and the Connacht team have a busy year ahead.”
Outside of selling property, Shane again shows that he is ambitious and a real team player. He has been involved in the Galway GAA scene with Salthill Knocknacarra and also plays soccer with various teams in Galway city including Salthill, Mervue and West United.
In 2019, Shane and The Connacht Property Auction enjoyed an average success rate of over 90% at the public auction events, giving them the highest success rate of any auction company in Ireland. The company held their first auctions of 2020 in January & February, and after the auctions Mr. May commented; “2019 was a extremally successful year with over 90% of properties offered through our online & public auctions selling and we please to see that again we averaging above 90% sold in the first couple of month of 2020. As we head into the Spring & Summer auction season, our aim is to continue to achieve strong results for our clients and our partner agents. We remain the only auction house in Ireland to offer a ‘no sale no fee’ policy so the property owner has no costs unless the property is successfully sold.”
